Opera Mail - IMAP downloads some e-mails TWICE, why?

The IMAP account I have on here sometimes doubles the e-mails I receive? Why is this happening?

All settings default, GMail IMAP enabled.

Lets say I get a message from John titled "Super hot models" and IMAP always shows this message doubled. WTF?

Hello,

It is normal and is due to the way gmail manages your e-mail - if you are subscribed to both Inbox and All mails, you'll get two copies, because gmail actually copies messages from Inbox to All Mail.
At some point I was subscribed to Inbox, All mail and Starred, so when a starred message arrived I got three copies in my opera inbox...
I unsubscribed from starred and all mail, now only get one copy.

cheers

Try to uncheck some IMAP folders, if a message is unread and in 2 folders (for example: Inbox and archive) you see it twice

Edit: Too late

Also, see http://operawiki.info/GmailImap and the action table at the beginning.

Basically, in this case (just for Gmail IMAP, not other IMAP servers), you collapse everything in the mail panel except for the "Mail for you@gmail.com" access point. Then, you use just that.

However, see the bottom of the linked page for an alternative, which helps make the Gmail IMAP server behave somewhat like a normal IMAP server.
