MacBook Tap-to-Click Problem
Hello,I just downloaded Opera 10.53 for my MacBook Pro (2010 Model, Snow Leopard) today to see how it compares to Firefox and Safari. However, I've been experiencing some inconsistencies regarding tap-to-click when using my trackpad. It seems that doing a single-tap to move the cursor or click a link activates drag-locking (for example, putting me in highlight mode or causing links to be dragged when I move the cursor). This doesn't happen every time and I am unable to reproduce the problem consistently, but it's happening often enough for it to be a major usability issue for me.
I originally thought this was an issue with my trackpad settings. I uninstalled any trackpad software I had and restored all setting to their default with no improvement. I then thought maybe my trackpad was defective. However, I noticed when I switched to other applications that everything was working as expected... the problem only occurred in Opera.
I searched Google and the Opera forums and the closest references I found to this problem have to do with smoother scrolling on using a trackpad. Could this be an issue with delays between touches that is causing Opera to see the gesture as a double-click? Or maybe how it's interpreting the sensitivity of the trackpad?
Finally, when I disable tap-to click and actually click the trackpad, everything works fine.
I just wanted to see if anyone else has been experiencing this or not.
Thank you.
