Well I know it hasn't happened yet. Looked out the window and the street lights are still on. That's hopeful for the morning.

Doom day maybe it means the day where bomb or weapon of mass destruction will take place,then on that note please excuse my comment rather ask the users.

He means the Y2K bug. And that wasn't a prediction of global doomsday - that's what the media hyped it up as.

And my 286 actually went to the year 1900, resulting in some really funny calculations in some spreadsheets I had in Works. This type of problem, however, was a) already largely fixed by '98 and b) wouldn't have resulted in some ludicrous end of the world scenario. But yes, had the situation not been fixed temporary problems with banking systems might definitely have ensued. As it is minor issues still crept up here and there, but nothing serious.

Jehova's Witnesses have already proclaimed the end of the world a dozen times or more. They really would not need some 1960s memory saving technique to convince them that the world was going to end.

Its not about being here to learn,but it helps to have an open mind because one can have more information.

That you are insecure is obvious having to quote Macallan or whoever. It is not his Forum nor anyone associated with him - nor yours or mine It belongs to ALL of us. Maybe you should ask him if he understands the crap in those two answers I repeated above? He may be kind and not want you to feel any less insecure but if you want to survive stand up for yourself and not fall back on someone else to argue for you.

That was a wide-spread software bug ( using only two digits for year number and then messing up when the year would fall back to 00 ) which was blown way out of proportion by media hype, was addressed more or less in time and for that reason completely failed to cause any of the crap you heard from wannabe doomsday prophets.

But that news isn't science. Imagine you say A and your friend later tells another friend that you said B. Then that another friend tells you that you were wrong about B because it's A. Were you wrong or was it your friend?
