Download redirects not working in Opera
On several occasions, I noticed that some download link redirects were not working in Opera 10.53 build 3374.For example, on the download page of VirtualBox, clicking the "x64/amd64" link results in a .exe file of 1KB with these contents:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"> <html dir="ltr"> <head> <title>Redirection Status</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="file://localhost/S:/Programs/Opera/styles/message.css" media="screen,projection,tv,handheld,print,speech"> </head> <body> <h1>Redirection Status</h1> <p>The URL was redirected to <a href=""></a>. Please click the link to go there.</p> <p>You can enable the automatic redirection in Preferences.</p> <address>Generated by Opera.</address> </body></html>
(notice the 'Generated by Opera')
But when I download the exact same link in another program to inspect what's going on, I get this HTTP header:
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily Server: Sun-Java-System-Web-Server/7.0 Date: Wed, 12 May 2010 06:00:05 GMT Location: http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/virtualbox/3.1.8/VirtualBox-3.1.8-61349-Win.exe Content-length: 0
Which seems like a normal redirect to me. The Location: URL works fine, if I enter that address in Opera manually I get download the correct file without problems.
Another example: the DaemonTools Download page, when I click on any of the four download links, it ends up on the same page again. But when doing the same in Firefox, it works OK.
What's up? :clown:

Did You check Settings->Preferences->Advanced->Network->Enable automatic redirection setting?

Yep, it's on. This kind of redirect usually works for me, but strangely enough not on the examples mentioned above (and I've stumbled upon a few other cases recently, not too many though).
