This is for the Opera Mobile QA team. I was impressed to see that the QA team is going through the forums to acknowledge and provide solutions to any problems that may be there in the software.

I am also facing a similar problem.
I have a nokia 5230 (perhaps known as a nuron in some parts of the world) which works on a symbian s60v5 platform.
I have opera mobile ver 10 final installed in the memory card of my phone.

The browser works very good. While I have been able to download music files of upto 7 MB using the browser (i cant say whether it would work with music files of larger size or not) when I tried to download video files of 30 - 70 MB size the download did not start at all. When you navigate to the downloads window (tools -> downloads) it shows that the download has been paused and when you try to resume the download it does not start at all.

I would like to mention that I have been able to download video files of upto 70 MB using the phones internal browser so perhaps there is nothing wrong with the phone or its memory.

I cannot say whether the problem is due to the file size or due to the type of file that being downloaded as I did not try to download any other type of files.

In any case the browser with its various features is the best and I simply adore it except for this problem.
I am hoping that the problem gets resolved as soon as possible as it is otherwise ruining a very efficient browser.

Using the patch and rompatcher software that i put the link in below you'll be You can change the original download address your phone browser to E: \ downloads \ 10008d39 \ download
Methods:
According to their model of phone files within compressed file and select a folder called "Patches" created in drive E and patch into it Copy
Then run the program ROMPatcher and you will see the patch name in the main program icon is a blue circle appear now option you simply select the Patch and then select Apply patch
After you've done that this blue icon beside the name of the green circle shaped patch should be checked with
That work is completed but if the form was established at a working red this mean there is a problam
A very important:

When you want to download the file you download after he began, then select option Hide after he finished downloading options open and will appear Later select Options and then through a For example, come explore the file manager downloads folder in E drive and go remove the file copy or cut that you
Because this patch directly opens files downloaded for the same point for convenience

Hi smile

Which page are you downloading the files from?
We have a known issue on the Rapidshare page, but I cannot reproduce this on any other page.
I have tried to download a 70+ MB file, and I had no problems with it. Both downloading to the device and the memory card worked.

Does this happen on all your big files, or just on downloads from a specific page?

I am using opera 10.1 beta on my E63. While I downloading any file, if it failed to download completely, it asks to resume download. But it never resumes. Instead of it, it restarts from the beginning. Eventhough it restarts, it doesn't work quickly, properly. Please help me, if mistake is on my side. Please modify the browser,if mistake is on browser.

I too have just started having problems with downloads on my 5800. Previously I could opt to download an fb2 book (from 'manybooks.net) and it would ask me where to save it, then I could download it into the correct file. Today however, without changing any settings (that I know of....) it tries to open the file and it comes out as a severely corrupted .txt file. The option to save seems to have disappeared. I don't think is is a site problem because I can still download on the PC.

So, what's changed, and what's the fix?? I'm puzzled.........

I fully agree with the comments friend... Who does not have a solution for this case? This problem will be solved in next version?

Same prob here !! Other browsers don't have flash and so it's impossible to download certain files from rapidshare or mediafire... Opera Mobile has flash but download stops or pauses most of the time. But once it starts say 0.5/6.8 mb it successfully completes the download. This happens only for the mp3 and mp4 or 3gp file types... Downloading images is no problem.

In my case the download manager does not even start and the page only seem to refresh itself without prompting me where to save the file etc. Reinstalling Opera Mobile 10 does not seem to help. BTW, i'm using SE Satio.

Please help.

We are looking into this, but the more information you can provide the better.

Like, what url you are visiting and trying to download from.
what kind of network you are connected to, wlan, 3g, low strength/high strength and so on.
Of course, phone type, but most of you have written this already.

thank you for the information and comments smile

I'm using nokia E63. I use opera mobile 10beta 2 installed on my memory card. I have 2G network connection. I can download the file which is upto 50 or 60MB or more than using UC browser. If downloading interrupts, it resumes from the end. But opera mobile can't resume. Moreover, opera mobile can't download large files. Almost all files are failed to download completely which are above 5MB approxymately. Plz furnish a solution!

hi... I'm using opera mobile 10.10version on my nokia E63 in 2G network. If any call has been made while downloading any file, that file will be paused automatically. After the call we can't resume even if we have resume option.

I already wrote about this problem on opera 10.1 beta version. Now again the 10.1 final version also have the same problem. No improvements.

This problem make me to use UC browser rather than opera to download any file. Opera is used just for browsing. It just looks richer than other browser but not efficient.

Please, improve the ''DOWNLOAD MANAGER''.down
