Cannot load gmail after 10.53 update

Ever since I updated to 10.53 I haven't been able to get to the gmail login page. It hangs for a couple minutes then the "Could not connect to remote server" error page comes up.

It works in IE, and it works in my other computer with 10.53. The computer is running XP.

Here's a list of things that I have tried:
-Identify/Mask as IE
-Checked that all of the Security Protocols are enabled
-Tried a "repair" install
-Tried removing 10.53 with the installer (going back to 10.51)
-Tried un-installing completely (removing everything that was saved in Application Data and the installed directory), and reinstalling
-Checked for DNS problems

At this point I am completely stumped... The only other thing I could think of is reinstalling windows, but that isn't really an option on this computer.

Does anyone know what could be going on, or other things I could check? Thanks

Try deleting your Gmail cookies.

You also forgot to tell us your OS, but I wonder why that should affect Gmail access unless you're using Mac or Unix versions of Opera.

I see — I thought your other computer was using XP and that was working.
Gmail login is also working for me on XP. Try a profile reset — delete or move operaprefs.ini from your profile folder (Help, About Opera). You will need to change again any preferences you have modified since installation.

That worked! Thanks for the help.

I'm curious why reinstalling didn't fix the problem (since I deleted the whole Opera application data folder), but I'm not too worried about it since everything works now!
