Can Opera be used as a ogg video player?

Was looking at some HTML5 theora video test with Opera.
(e.g., http://double.co.nz/video_test/test1.html http://people.xiph.org/~maikmerten/demos/bigbuckbunny-videoonly.html )

They played fine. However, if I save the video and try to open the .ogv or .ogg with Opera directly (drag video into Opera window), I get a save dialog message instead of playing.

Obviously, Opera can play the file, but only if it's specified in a "video" tag. It doesn't play the video directly, or even when linked-to via an html link. It plays fine in Firefox and Chrome via either of those methods.

I'm using 10.53 and the program type setting is:
mime:video/ogg
file type:ogv
action:save dialog

I added ogg to the file type and changed action to Opera. All that I get is a window full of gibberish.
