I have same problem. I am using Samsung Avila and Opera Mini 5. I downloaded Opera through Site -> my computer -> my phone and installed and worked nice. But I had this annoying virtual keyboard which is useless in Avila. I deleted Virtual keyboard by:
1. Opening JAR file in computer through WinRAR
2. Adding lines:
MIDlet-Touch-Support: True UseNativeTextButtons: hide ReverseSoftkeys: hide UseNativeCommands: hide LGE-MIDlet-Width: 240 LGE-MIDlet-Height: 400
Now i haven't virtual keyboard, but i can't connect to Internet. Please help me, I don't want this keyboard!
This morning I was enjoying my usage of Opera mini 4.2 which I've been using for over a year now. Then I got a message stating that Opera mini 5 was now available to upgrade click here. I clicked my default browser opened and took took me to the m.opera.com I was able to download it but when I tried to open it said it couldn't access the internet and to check my settings. I tried again and again and even tried to reload 4.2 and that no longer works either. 4.2 tells me to copy a link and put in my computer which basically took me to the Help page. I wish I would never have upgraded now. I hate my default browser its extremely slow compared to my Opera mini. I have a Samsung Behold SGH-T919
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I will be upgrading my phone some time in the near future but for now I'm stuck with this phone.

Hi Keikob,
I'm sorry to hear about your predicament. There are a couple of things you could try that may resolve the problem or help us understand what's going on:
1) Change the network profile or connection settings for Opera Mini. On Samsung handsets there typically is a separate setting for each Java application. You should be able to change this setting somewhere in the phone's menu system.
2) Install a signed version of Opera Mini. In the default browser, go to http://m.opera.com and follow the "Other download options" link. Near the bottom of the next page, follow the "Select Code-Signing Certificate" link for Opera Mini 5. Try "all", "Thawte", and "Verisign" options.
3) Install Opera Mini 4 in parallel. Again at http://m.opera.com and "Other download options", choose "Opera Mini 4.2" and download it. It will be called "Opera Mini 4" in your phone's menu system.

Opera Mini versions 3, 4 and 5 were working successfully
on my mobile phone here in Sri Lanka.
All of sudden ... only version 3 began to connect. The two
newer versions provide more facilities so I worked hard
with Network setup and Settings. I also tried shifting the
UART chip from SIM 1 to SIM 2.
This is a Chinese T900 phone and the service provider
is Airtel. How can I get versions 4 and 5 to connect again?

It has SSL support now.
