Buttons for site specific preferences

Hi, I'm Using a lot of site speecific preferences. For example by enabling cookies FOR this site only, or by enabling Javascript for this site only ... etc etc.

But i am missing a little bit usability by doing this. A few Buttons for these Feature would be great.

For example "activating javascript" inside the site preferences menü by clicking only one button.

best regards

Thanks Pesala
But no.

I do NOT want to see these Dialog Options ... i want to change the site specific preferences WITHOUT using any dialogs.
I want to change the site specific preferences with clicking just one button.

one button for activating - deactivating site specific javascript.
one button for activating - deactivating site specific cookie behavior
one button for activating - deactivating site specific plugins.

let me explane that.

it is the first time i am using web.
javascript - plugins are not active.

i am visiting youtube.com.

i want to see videos on youtube and i trust youtube. so i want to activate plugins and javascript on youtube.
so i want to click one - maybe two buttons to write my youtube site specific settings for activated plugins and activated javascript.

I do NOT want to open the dialog - changing the option inside the dialog - closing the dialog.

thanks

wink I guessed that was what you wanted, but showing the dialogue is more versatile as you might want to change other scripting options. The button can be made to click the check-box and the default button automatically.

Scripting

Thank you Pesala

The Button you have posted activates / deactivates Javascript.

Now I need a Button for "Plugins", for "blocked content" and last but not least a Button (with dropdown) for Cookie - Behavior.

And - As you maybe see - i do not know anything about how to create buttons.

best regards

As you can see, I posted a link above to the Opera buttons thread, where you can find all that you need to learn about making buttons.

Pesala ... great answer.

do it yourself.

well... just one thing.

can you make a button with correct cookie behavior? Buttons for Javascript, Plugins ... are no problem. Buttons for the site spedific cookies are ... well ... a little bit tricky. I am not able to do that. maybe you are?

For me custom checkboxes to control site specific settings on top level would be very useful, too.

Pesala, your solution is not bad, but I can't see at a glimpse if javascript is enabled or disabled for the current site.
I don't ask someone to create what I want for me bigsmile, but I would like to ask the more experienced users here whether they think it is at least possible to create checkboxes displaying and controlling the current state for the open site in terms of plugins, javascript, and cookies (or one checkbox for all) ...

Related to this it would be very handy to enable javascript, plugins and cookies just for one tab. I would use the privacy browsing thing, but it seems to inherit the global settings. Is there a way to set them differently from global setting?

Someone kept spamming my website with the "Scripting" button on this page (ahem, 193.##.##.19) since they are using Opera 11, and after testing the button myself, I assume they aren't having luck with it... a nasty, but functional work-around is: <a href="opera:/button/Edit%20site%20preferences,%22Script%22,,,%22Panel%20Info%22%20&%20Focus%20next%20widget%20&%20focus%20previous%20widget%20&%20Click%20button%20&%20Click%20default%20button">JavaScript</a>

Regarding the rest... I know it's been months... but "Cookies" isn't really possible, not with a simple button, you could use <i>two</i> buttons, one to enable cookies, one to disable cookies... but that's not very much fun at all... what you would have to do, requires some amount of knowledge about how Opera handles things, and where things are...

For starters, you would have to create a custom menu (in your menu.ini), something like:
[My Cookie Menu]
Item,844988740="Edit site preferences,"Cookies",,,"Panel Info" & Focus Next Widget & Focus Previous Widget & Click Button & Click Default Button"
Item,427617941="Edit site preferences,"Cookies",,,"Panel Info" & Focus Next Widget & Click Button & Click Default Button"
Item,1729617507="Edit site preferences,"Cookies",,,"Panel Info" & Focus Next Widget & Focus Next Widget & Click Button & Click Default Button"

Then for the button, something like:
Show hidden popup menu,"My Cookie Menu",,-421726267,"Panel Info"

But it won't show the current state/selected option...

Here's the two others: <a href="opera:/button/Edit%20site%20preferences,%22Content%22,,,%22Panel%20Info%22%20&%20Focus%20Next%20Widget%20&%20Focus%20Next%20Widget%20&%20Click%20Button%20&%20Click%20Default%20Button">Plug-ins</a>, and <a href="opera:/button/Edit%20site%20preferences,%22Content%22,,,%22Panel%20Info%22%20&%20Focus%20Next%20Widget%20&%20Focus%20Next%20Widget%20&%20Focus%20Next%20Widget%20&%20Click%20Button%20&%20Click%20Default%20Button">Content Blocking</a> ... you'll notice a very distinct trend here...lol

Bump.

A new button action would be nice. Something like:
Enable sitejavascript,,,"JavaScript","Checkbox Skin" | Disable sitejavascript,,,"JavaScript","Checkbox Skin.Selected"

If feature X is to be added in the next version of Opera, make sure there is an option to disable feature X.
