Can't Send SSL SMTP

Specs:
Linux Mint 8
Opera 10.54 Internal 6336

My works SMTP server is on port 465 and uses SSL.
If I set up Thunderbird with the SSL option I can send mail. If I set it up with TLS I can't send mail.
Operas mail client only seems to offer TLS.
Does this mean I can't use Operas mail client for my work email?

Are you saying that you tried it in Opera and it didn't work? Or, are you saying you want to know before-hand?

It should just work fine.

Try Ctrl + F12 -> advanced -> security -> Security Protocols -> uncheck tls 1.2 and 1.1, ok out and restart Opera. (Or, try just disabling tls 1.2)

Does it work then?
