Delete preloaded om,then try to install.
Opera Mini 5.1 and Opera Mobile 10 on Nokia 5230 Series 60 5th Edition.

One solutiom I know of is to rename the midlet prior to install. You can find a guide in this thread.

Unpack the JAR file, find MANIFEST.MF and change Midlet-Name (probably also midlet-Vendor) in it, then zip it back. Attention: the MANIFEST.MF name is CASE SENSITIVE on most phones (but not sony-yoricksons :-D).

It must be in uppercase, otherwise it is not a valid .jar archive.

Also don't forget that doing this invalidates the signature.

You dont have to rename manifest.mf.
You have to rename midlet name inside manifest.mf.

Hey man.... thanks ya.....

it worked for me perfectly and now om5 is running nicely.

i will post a quick rewiew for new commers to follow.

If ur phone have permanently installed om browser and you are not able to install new oM, then follow these steps.
"
1. Download the .jar file from the net.
2. Open the file with .zip or .rar etc.
3. Search for file "MANIFEST.MF"
4. Open this file woth notepad.
5. Change the Midlet name from "Opera mini" to "Opera mini 5" and save it.
6. install it in ur mobile.
