Disable the "please disable your ad-blocker"?

So I hate ads. More annoying than ads is placing a an obtrusive annoying colored banner on my screen telling me to disable my ad-blocker.

Is there a way I can add this banner element to the block list?

If anyone wants to see the annoying banner I am referring to: http://www.gamereplays.org/portals.php

Thanks in advance.

That is annoying indeed. And Block Content doesn't work either. Sorry I can't help but I'm curious if someone knows how...

I have not seen a banner on this page.

However, I noticed topic about this: http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showtopic=617181

BTW
Problem is probably javascript which checks whether ads image is loaded with page.
If it detects that advertising is not loaded, then show banner (or redirect to separate page) with requesting to block off.
Maybe similar to Anti Adblock Script.

If you want free web sites, get used to ads. Many sites depend on them. If you want to avoid such sites that don't let you block ads, that's your choice. One way or another, they need to generate some income to survive.

Sorry isn't, I've JS disabled and see that too.. more likely it's the other way around (without checking through the source), JS hides that...

Not exactly... is slightly different and... simpler.
On this page is a specific script and if it's blocked (because address to script contains /ads/), then page style is changed (with orange "banner") - or maybe vice versa, script changes style to "correct".
Same of course if generally JS is disabled (because script is not running).
This is a very simple protection/trap - works if someone (user) has used a very general block ads.

The funniest ones are when you visit newgrounds.com.

They've got specific ads for adblock users.

I don't adblock specifically, but I use a hosts file.

If I really get annoyed with the blocked space, I use the fanboy-adblocklist-elements.css

I use hosts and have Javascript off by default too. I did see that notice as I posted.

Rather, this is not exactly a banner. This is an element of style.
Java script just set "visibility:hidden!important; display:none" for this element (orange 'belt').
Java script it's: .../community/uploads/ads/show_ad_.js (and this is not advertising, but only style switcher).

So... should be enabled JS and not blocked this particular script (also do not use too general 'adblock' rules).
I'm not sure about UserCSS (possible random id style)...

Thank you for taking the time to answer, but I'm sorry to say I don't know what you are talking about. Are you saying that I can use my own CSS to block this banner.

How did you do that!!

I have nothing blocked on that site, when I go to blocked content, nothing is displayed. Also, the orange banner is "faded out" and I cannot select it. I tried copy/paste of the URL and it didn't work.

1./ create an user css file. open up an text editor, paste the following CSS into the text editor.
whoops, bit too overly keen there! my original CSS example will block ALL a div's, NOT just the orange fixed banner, so ignore:
body a div, a div {...}

this is better:

* {position: static !important;}

div.bgZxmwQXkh,
div#akPbciUIxD,
div[class="bgZxmwQXkh"],
div[id="akPbciUIxD"],
* div.bgZxmwQXkh,
* div#akPbciUIxD,
* div[class="bgZxmwQXkh"],
* div[id="akPbciUIxD"],
div.bgZxmwQXkh *,
div#akPbciUIxD *,
div[class="bgZxmwQXkh"] *,
div[id="akPbciUIxD"] *, body>a + div {
position: static !important;
left: -100% !important;
margin-left: -100% !important;
text-indent: -100% !important;
display: none !important;
visibility: hidden !important;
width: 0 !important;
height: 0 !important;
border: none !important;
font-size: .25pt!important;
background: transparent !important;
color: #333 !important;
z-index: auto;
top: -200px;
font-weight: normal !important;}

you can always play around with the above example, removing any if unnecessary or duplicate (which they are but listed as an 'catch-all' really)
you could probably get away with just:

* div[class="bgZxmwQXkh"], * div[id="akPbciUIxD"] {
display: none !important;
visibility: hidden !important;}

save as "gamereplays-user.css" - with the quote marks to ensure correct filetype is used/saved - to an folder of your choice (either within Opera user settings folder - C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\styles\user\ - or another location on your harddrive).

2./ open up the website in an new tab.
select tools>quick preferences>Edit Site Preferences>
select DISPLAY tab
where it says My Style sheet, browse for the location where you saved the gamereplays-user.css for this website.
select the file so the path is now in the My Style sheet box. Press OK.

Next, to confirm the gamereplays-user.css has been selected, or to do the procedure above (slightly differently):

tools>Preferences>content
select ADVANCED tab.
select MANAGE SITE PREFERENCES.
in the box type game and it will show ALL websites with game in the url.
IF you did the procedure with the edit site preferences via quick preferences then
gamereplays.org
and
www.gamereplays.org
will already be there!
If NOT, add them.
(You could also add http://www.gamereplays.org just to make sure if you wanted!)
select each gamereplays.org domain, click edit on the panel, double-check that the gamereplays-user.css for this domain, with the local url address pointing to the folder you saved the gamereplays-user.css in is present in the box (C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\styles\user\gamereplays-user.css) via the DISPLAY settings for this (gamereplay.org) domain.
repeat for www.gamereplays.org (AND http://www.gamereplays.org if you added it also!)

does that work?

Right, i downloaded admuncher yesterday and when i went into the site, even though the content was already blocked by opera, because admuncher was working i got that banner. As soon as i turned it off and reloaded the banner was gone. It might be worth completley turning off your adblocker and trying with only block content, just to see if it works on yours too. And as to what i did?....nothing, just hit block content p
