How to move mail to another account?

I have setup 3 accounts in Opera Mail, Gmail, Hotmail and Local Host.

The Local Host account is just a collection of stored emails I brought over from Thunderbird. I have setup my Gmail account to pull the emails out of my Hotmail account and therefore no longer need my Hotmail account in Opera. However, I have some saved emails in the Hotmail account I wish to move to the Local Host folder. Dragging and dropping the emails from the Hotmail folder into the Local Host folder does not seem to work. Is there someway to do this?

Yeh, you can't do this directly (It's feature request bug DSK-277229). Instead, you have to export the messages to an mbs file and import that mbs file into the local account.

To export, right-click on a view that has all the messages you want and choose export. If it says something about bodies not being downloaded and wanting to fetch them, let Opera do that. But, when it's done, it won't go ahead with the export. You'll have to try the export again and then it should work.

If needed, create a filter named "To Export". Then, add a message (or selection of messages) to it by right-clicking on the message/selection, going to "Show in" -> "To Export" -> "This filter". Then, export the "To Export" filter to an mbs file and import that into the Local account.

For IMAP account to IMAP account, you can copy messages across no problem (if you do it under the "mail for" access points for the IMAP accounts). A drag (and cut and paste iirc) across IMAP accounts will do a copy instead of a move like it would if dragging from one folder to another in the same IMAP account.

For pop/local to IMAP, you should be able to copy message from the pop account to the "mail for" access point of the IMAP account.

For importing an mbs file, you can't import it into an IMAP account. It will always create a local account. But, then, you should be able to copy from the local to the IMAP account.
