Religions and their wealth.

Did anyone notice how mostly christian countries have diamond and gold mines? Whereas in islam dominated areas produce oil?

Iran is an islam dominated area and they also produce oil. South Africa and other christianity dominated countries have gold or diamond mines.

Or is it the northern part of the equator producing more oil, while the southern part gold?

There's these countries that you would presumably call Christian with plenty of oil, like the US, Canada and Russia. And let's not forget the North-Sea oil here in Europe.

Possibly, but if so it has as much to do with the equator as with religion.

Brazil has a lot of oil, so do Norway, Canada, Venezuela etc. - someone tell them they're all muslims right

And Mexico has plenty of oil, but shockingly few Muslims. In fact there's so much oil in the Gulf of Mexico, they're just showing off by releasing countless barrels into the sea for the fun of it...

@Frenzie: Thanks Frenzie, I liked your input. Very informative.

@Macallan: Ok, all the places you mentioned are in the Northern Hemisphere with Brazil as an exception. You are also right, Thank you for the input.

Don't forget the gold and diamond mines in siberia. Also, the only reason why there are hardly any active gold or silver mines in europe is the fact that it's been mined for many, many centuries - the mines are simply depleted, and have been for quite some time. In fact with today's technology people started 'mining' the rubbish dumps from historical mines - ore extracting processes centuries ago weren't anywhere near as effective as what we have now.
So, these days gold mines have a tendency to be in areas that haven't been mined to death since ancient times, like siberia, central / southern africa, parts of the americas etc.
Interest in oil is much more recent, hence the different distribution.

Are contradictions.
After all, both Christianity and Islam go on at great lengths about giving to charity, helping the poor, etc.

Apart from the oil thing I would hardly list Christian countries with gold an diamond mines as a point either?

There are plenty in africa but there are also plenty elsewhere.
As I said, in areas that haven't been mined to death since antiquity.

Obviously not Mexicans. My comment could have been misinterpreted that way. Poorly worded.
