Can't select the download folder for OM5 on UIQ (SE P1i)
Sorry if this is explained somewhere already
I just couldn't find anything (yet)...I got a Sony Ericsson P1i for a bargain prize, so I just couldn't resist it, although the UIQ platform is already "old fashioned"
OM5 seems to run just okay on P1i, but I have just one problem. I can't select the folder for downloads, and therefore I can't download any files. When I try to select the target folder, the 'Choose' option just stays gray.I should have the latest firmware (or what ever it is called on UIQ platform).

Btw,UIQ is symbian, right? There should be an app manager.
Yes, there is, and I did find where the permissions are defined. THey should be just okay, although there's no corresponding 'never ask' option as there usually are on many other platforms.

Aha, I think I solved the problem, and it's the usual way to solve OM problems: reinstalling
However, I have to check it throughoutly before declaring this issue as solved. EDIT: Yes, problem solved by reinstalling. EDIT: There's something suspicious still going on. I'll update as soon as I find out what is going on

Problem not solved after all
When I define the folder where I want to store saved files, it asks the certifications. Well that's alright, but this seem to break something because afterwards OM5 starts to confirm certificates every time I start it. I recall seeing something similar about this mentioned before, so I guess I have to dig deeper the forum posts...
One more thing. I tried to use external card as a target folder. Maybe that's the reason? I'll need to do some more tests as well

Use k800i!
I already planned to do so
I bought this used SE P1i for only €50, and it is very good phone, although UIQ no longer supported. However, there really seem to be some nasty issues with OM5.Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...." And then do it. - Duane Michals
