Feature request: managing multilingual versions of a blog entry

Hello,

My need is to publish a blog entry in different languages displaying only the version the reader wants to read.
Currently, if one wants to write a post in more than one language, the reader can't see only one of those.

What would be useful for the writer is this kind of tags:

[LANG=lang1] the whole text written in language lang1 [/LANG]
[LANG=lang2] the whole text written in language lang2 [/LANG]

Then, two - in that case - links for the reader: lang1 / lang2 so the user can choose in which language to read it.
So, I'm not speaking of internal anchors.

I hope that feature will be thought about smile

Thanks smile

Nice! I would use this! I'm not multi-lingual, sad to say, and would definitely welcome something like this. smile

Working as intended.

Hello,

I'm not sure yet If I would use it and if so, I don't know to which extent I would. It depends much on how it would be implemented.

If we can switch of language for the blog entry but we still have to handle ourselves in a awckward way multilingualism for the title, the tags, ... Not speaking of the comments, the feeds, the interface, ...

Anyway, perhaps I would use it but the mixed languages in comments would probably bother me...

I'm afraid multilingualism for a blog is nettlesome ...

I would consider trying to translate some of my blog posts to english, if there were a good structure.

In my case a would like to choose one main language and one second language in my blog settings.

The blog posts that is also translated to the second language would display a flag or another symbol that shows it's available in another language.

When I post a new blog post I would have the option to translate it right away or by editing it later.

You could have the ability to translate the tags as well.

The visitors that only understands the second language could be able to browse posts in the second language only.

Commenting could be solved by commenting in language one under the language one post and commenting in language two under the translated post.

This would be a cool feature for the blog.

(It would be almost like two parrallell blogs, but linked together nicely. Of course you could always get two accounts, start two blogs and link them together manually.)
