OM 5 performance on BlackBerry 8330 and 8520
Hello,I'd first like to thank the Opera Software team for providing such great browsing options, at no charge!
Unfortunately, using Opera Mini 5 on my BlackBerry 8330 ("Curve") and 8520 ("Curve 2") results in terrible performance. In addition, there are stability issues which aren't easily reproducable so I won't get into them...
Opera Mini 5, in my experience, is all but unusable on the BlackBerry 8330. The situation has improved slightly in the 8520, no doubt due to it's CPU's slightly higher clock rate, but scrolling and cursor movement is still unbearably sluggish. However, on http://m.mobile.com, this version is specifically recommended for these phones. I have found Opera Mini 4.2 to be very fast and stable...
Perhaps, to better promote the Opera user-experience, Opera Mini 4.2 can be recommended for these phones instead of the bleeding-edge OM 5, which is clearly targetting the BB Storm and Apple iPhone, not my old Curves :)

Yea. I kinda agree. The instability and load time are problems. The curser sticks on the log in screen and the page format jumps to way too large on it's own.
I was having problems with 4.2 also, some of which I felt were not intrinsic to the software but were security issues (little motivational urges to find this version?)
Anyway that is why I'm searching through here.
Gonna try to narrow my parameters I think.
