Will OM support WebM?

We all know OM has a plugin interface that no one officially acknowledges. But now WebM is finally out of the bag, it doesn't take much to put the two and two together. So ... When will we be able to play Youtube inside OM?

Implementing a video codec in a Java Mobile app is quite hard. I don't think most phones have the processing power to decode Vorbis+VP8 in native code, and Java's going to be a lot slower. Hell, Mini can't even do GIF.

In other words: I will be highly surprised if Mini gains support for _any_ audio or video format.

The only sane choice here is to use the phone's built-in video playback capabilities - and unless the manufacturer releases a firmware update, you're out of luck.

Some plugs installed on server side perhaps can do this job if it is any for this kind of codec.
