Mail Item Rules, Not filters

In the Opera Mail client, is there any way to create a rule that would physically move messages to a sub folder of the inbox to get them out of my main inbox?
I use Gmail, and I get tons of email, a lot of them from forums that I want to save to read later (or not), and I'd like to not see them in the inbox.

Thanks.

Marshall,
This is easily achieved with filters, which are in themselves rules. When you create a new one, all you need do is check the "Mark message as filtered" box. I have 3 email accounts, including a Gmail. The Received Box view does not show the filtered stuff, so it's sitting waiting for you (and you'll see a number indicated next to the filter) until you're ready to read it. I too, have subscriptions to a few forums and receive regular newsletters that I prefer not to choke up the Received Box.
The Filters regime employed by Opera can appear a little daunting if you're used to the folder system employed by most mail clients. It's very logical (and infinitely better) once you get your head around it.
There was a great post by WildEnte a few weeks back, that put me right on track, which I suggest you have a look at:

Welcome to the My Opera community!

Also, if you're using Gmail IMAP, you can set up the server-side filtering at mail.google.com, not in Opera's bult-in mail client.

Basically, at mail.google.com, you create a filter with the rules you want and have the filter move/copy the message to the label folder you want. But, these will be under the "mail for you@gmail.com" access point where all the folders are actually at. The built-in views in Opera (like Unread and All messages/Received etc.) don't have an "Inbox".

Definitely read the link export13 posted. And, see the Gmail IMAP link in my sig for further info.
