Recover lost text in Opera like the Firefox & Chrome addon Lazarus?

Hi everyone,

I am new to Opera and I like it a lot, but some minutes ago I wrote a very long review in a forum, but when I pressed "Send" the page reloaded and told me that the review wasn't sent because JavaScript and cookies need to be activate (I already have them activated!)...but the point is not JavaScript or cookies, but all the text of the review...lost...in Firefox this is not a problem because Lazarus add-on take care of all text, can someone add this great feature to Opera? I was really angry and I will not use any more Opera without this feature, even if this means that I would not be able anymore to use lots of Opera features that I really like...

There's a handy user.js that is just what you are looking for. Textarea Backup Localstorage

Great way to come looking for help, nobody is forcing you to use Opera.

Read all, i WANT to use Opera, but this feature for me is essential, it saved me a lot of time and I hate the idea to not use Opera anymore just for a single missing feature! sad

often a simple back action brings you back to the previous page with all text you've written.

Yeah yeah, but when you really need that disappeared text back, form is empty. So it would be useful anyway. smile

Use the user.js Textarea Backup Localstorage that I have already mentioned in this thread. It does exactly what you want.

It does not work, at least not here. And yes I have user JavaScript enabled, I use some other user JavaScripts.

Ok, then it would be homely feeling, like with Opera wink
Btw. I have been Opera user since version 5 or 6, so I know there is some shortcomings with Opera too smile

But now I do not have to say anything more about this issue. I just like to see this feature on Opera.

How do I add the user scripts. I clicked on one and saw the code, but that is all I can do. I did install UJS Manager which is supposed to make things easier, but I am lost.

Just right click on the link to the script and save it to a folder. The go to Menu > Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Content > Javascript Options and set the folder as "user javascript folder".

I have another question. Once I install the script and activate that folder as a one for holding Opera scripts how do I get it to work? Let's say I accidentally close a tab, how do I get the words back? With Lazareus I could right click in the blank area, and choose which words I wanted to reappear.

It depends on the script.
