starting up Opera

Hi! I was given a Mac 10.3 laptop notebook. I've never used Mac before, so I'm clueless. I downloaded Opera, but it won't open. The icon is in the taskbar and it bounces when I double click it, but it just won't open. I deleted it and downloaded it again, but I still get the same thing. What am I doing wrong? I know less than nothing about setting up computers, so any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you so very much!

Sorry, I do not use a Mac. Hopefully the Support people who visit this forum can help on your problem. Mean time the best you can do is to Google with some pertinent search text. Example "Mac taskbar icon will not open". Sorry I can not help your specific problem.
Thanks in Advance...

As usual i was using my opera v9.51 (latest) , but didnt like the latest version so decided to upgrade an old version 9.10 , without un-istalling 9.51 .

Try to use the Activity Monitor to check if Opera is running & close it from here.
Start again, if seems to be running, but hidden, right click on the taskbar icon, should be appears the SpeedDial or Google, CMD+T to open another tab & should opens again.

My girlfriend has a Mac too, & sometimes happens this thing, also, remember to close from CMD+Q not from the Red button, sometimes, this is the problem (at least for me, but I'm less than bassic user)

Hello,

I don't use a mac but do know a regular here that you can contact about your problem that might be able to help you he uses a mac to beta test Opera. Go to the Opera lounge and look for a user with the screen name " HPearce" he can help. Better yet here is the link to his page.
