Installing Opera 10.53 on Win 7 (64 bit) interrups after "preparing installation...." (Sweden)

I have tried to install Opera in many ways but always failed. It all ends in the same way: After extracting, laguage choice and the installation prepares (In swedish: "Förbereder installationen....") it just disappears. No message. Nothing happens!
I have no problems with installing other programs.
I have Windows 7 (64 bit) in a brand new computer (Pavillon HPE-110). Is Opera browser not compatible with Windows 7 (64 bit)?

nope, it works fine with 7 x64 - that's what i'm running it on.

right click the opera install file and choose 'run as administrator', then click 'yes' on that uac prompt.
that should handle things for you

You can also try installing Opera with Classic Installer (here 10.53 for windows: http://www.opera.com/browser/download/?os=windows&ver=10.53&local=y - click Advanced options to select Classic). Swedish language file is here: http://www.opera.com/download/lng/1050/ouw1050_sv.lng.

I don't know if this could help, but you can give it a try -there's nothing to lose .

Thank you Saskatchewan! Now I could install Opera. In what folder shall I put the swedish language file? I tried Opera's program folder but it didn't work.

By default it is "Opera installation directory\locale\language code" folder. To choose your language go to menu O->Settings->Preferences->General (tab), click Details button, then click Choose button, browse to your language file and select it.
