Ubuntu 10.04, FLASH & Opera
Greetings from an old Opera fan,I just installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, and of course Opera 10.10 for Linux.
I could not watch any flash movie (i.e. in Youtube, but also all other sites)
I installed from the Ubuntu repository the Adobe Flash player. Yup: it works for Firefox, but no result with Opera.
I had a fast look on the net, but I found only suggestions that require to be a software engineer to be adopted (do sudo, download this, expand that, instal that and so on for a full page!!!).
Is there any simple solution? a browser with no easy flah support is almost uselless.
Thanks and best regards
Luca

If you do run 64bit Linux then I suspect I know what the problem is and the fix doesn't have to be that complex to resolve.
Save this plugin-ignore.ini file to a convenient location. Then load the following as as a URL in Opera:
opera:config#Network|PluginIgnoreFile
Click 'Choose' and select the plugin-ignore.ini file you saved previously, then click the 'Save' button. Restart Opera and Flash should be working.

I m trying those days for the very first time various different distros and i m facing the same problem with ubuntu -64bit. I ll try of course your advice and hope for the best. If not, Mint seems a logical alternative since since any flash movie working perfectly there from the very first moment.
