cannot connect time

hello

when we have unplugged the internet cable, opera take some time to display the 'unable to connect' when trying to open a webpage

why doesn't opera do it immediately?

is there a setting I can adjust this time?

Opera is fast, but it isn't that fast. Any browser needs some amount of time to try to connect to a site before telling you it can't. For any number of reasons (busy server, bad/slow intenet connection, low wireless signal strength, unplugged cable, etc.) connecting can sometimes take a few seconds.

There is probably a setting somewhere to change the timeout interval. I've asked about that in another thread but nobody has replied yet.
