Child labour in Bangladesh!!!

Hi guys,
Iam writing a final essay to get into Uni and would love to hear from anyone who has anything at all on this subject.
The full title is child labour in Bangladesh, how would eradicating it effect the economy and the families invoved?
I would really like to hear from Bangladeshi`s who have experienced child labour or extreme poverty first hand or anyone who has an opinion on this matter.
Could we in Britain do more to help?
Thank you to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!

Child labor? Very sadistic! Only a stingchy, penny-grabbing, greedy and spineless coward would hire children! To pay them minimum wage, abuse them and overload them with work!!!

Very sadistic!!!
Keep it simple. Tizz.

So why doesn't their own government get off it's arse and do something positive about it then?

I am not overly concerned with child labour as long as it isn't exploitative.

I was checking out the ILO (International Labour Organization) website just today (to see if they had any jobs)... and they have resources on child labour. I think they published one just this year - check out their website on this theme - Child Labour ILO

I'm sure you can find links to other organisations that would help.

Peace

I think most people want the best for their children, they want them to be educated and succesful. You don't send your child off to work unless it was absolutely necessary but these parents are very unproductive so the family needs the additional income else they would starve. So that is what would happen when you ban child labor, the families impoverish even more. Until a nation accumulates enough capital so the laborers become more productive there is no way to avoid child labor. Off course others could offer to pay for those children but that will have many unintended consequences (large families, with big shortages of everything in the country because still not enough is produced and families with more children will be able to afford more so families will become ever larger trying to get more money chasing after still the same amount of goods being available)
