POP3/SMTP access problems with Opera Web Mail Premium? Read here.

You may have been experiencing log-in problems with your email client recently. In order to continue to access your mail via an email client, you need to update your username configuration in your email client settings for incoming and outgoing mail. This is usually located under Settings: Accounts. The format for these settings should change as follows:

from:
username:operamail.com#operamail.com

to:
username@operamail.com (the same as your email address)

If you need assistance with this update, please contact Opera Web Mail Premium Support. Please include the name of your email client (eg. Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, ...) when you contact us.
http://www.opera.com/support/contact/?help=operamail

We sincerely apologize for the lack of prior notice and for any inconvenience this change has caused you.

(PS: This change was not because of FastMail, but because of the old provider.)

I'm not sure what you mean by "TO" and "FROM".

SMTP and POP would have been easier…

Am I right in thinking that "TO" means POP server (what we collect, incoming messages sent TO us), and "FROM" stands for SMTP server - what we send, outgoing e-mails from the user account ???

Please clarify…
Plenty more time where it comes from...

The server address is unchanged. This is the username you use to authenticate against the server. "from" is the old format and "to" is the new format.

pop3.operamail.com @ port 110

Outbound: smtp.myopera.com at port 465 using SSL

POP3 is history (almost @ End of Life). rip
SMTP is a tragedy - thanks for all those SPAMmails and so on. bomb

We need the new protocols like IMAP4 and as a standard 'encryption' of our mails.
