Opera Mini 5 doesn't load any webpages anymore
Opera Mini Version 5.0.18741Nokia 5230 with SW 20.0.005
Until yesterday everything works great, but all of a sudden Opera Mini "refuses" to load any pages.
It starts normal, when I select link or type an adress, the data plan starts (internet connection) and opera waits for an "infinitiy" amount of time with the progress bar making no progress at all. Then the known "connection error ..." appears.
With the mobiles internal browser everything still works, so I can't blame the mobile, data plan nor the provider.
I would like to reinstall opera, but how can I save the settings and links?

But HOW can I synchronize? I found no explanaition for this here on opera.com.

Yep, even better. Btw I have the weirdest tracert ever seen with opera mini for 't' servers - via pnap>linx peer>ip only - and I can't see the end because 23 limit is passed. I must say that opera mini is functional but the traceroute is too long, tested with http://www.rosinstrument.com/cs.htm?1210 and timeout set to 20 in config.

It's better to try the network test first and if that doesn't change anything reinstall internet settings or the app like a final solution. You can sync OM via #8>opera link if you have an acount at my.opera.com.
Today I deinstalled Opera, and downloaded it again. After the initial installation I started it up, the splash screen appeared saying "installing", but didn't manage to finish. I think it can not connect to the Opera server. With the Nokia build-in Browser everything works fine.
How ist this network test perfomed? I can't find anything in the (lousy) manual, FAQ etc.,sorry!

Again, what country are you trying to connect from and did you try and download Opera Mini 4.2 as I suggested?
Meanwhile I installed Opera 10 for Symbian Phones, but I want Mini 5 back because of the much better "Mobile View". Opera 10 is showing even optimized mobile sites with such tiny fonts you cannot even read this ****.
I cannot install Mini 5 or 4.2, everytime the small *.jar-file is downloaded and after proceeding the phone always says "installing..." with an animated progress-bar, but after a minute it says "connection terminated" which means it could not connect at all. It looks like it cannot connect to the Opera-Server.
I connect from germany, until the silent upgrade everything worked fine. The mobile (safari?) browser and Opera 10 are both working. Is it possible to get Mini 5 as a *.sis-file? But I doubt it would connect then even if I manage to install it.
Can both browsers (Opera 10 and Mini 5) be installed at the same time or have I do deinstall Opera 10 first? This would be real horror.

I wanted do deinstall Mini 5 once again after it wasn't able to connect to the Opera server. As I browsed through the list of installed programs on my mobile phone (Symbian OS), I realized that some of the tiles have blue squares instead of red ones. This was also the case with Opera Mini 5. I selected the options and saw a strange menu item "suite settings". When selected you see that there comes up a list of options, one of it called "access point" with a blank field! After selecting my preferred access point, everything worked again.
This is really strange behavior, as the access points can be seleceted elsewhere in the phones settings for global use. Also Mini 5 worked before, and I didn't select anything in this menu before.

I have the same problem, My opera mini 5 on nokia 5130 Express Music also runs at it will. It stops loading webpages without any apparent reason. Can't blame the mobile internet because the set's generic browser as well as the other java applications that require internet run perfectly. Even opera's small competitor Bolt browser which I don't like runs fine as well. I reluctantly have to use bolt when the opera gets stuck in one place. The strange thing is that all of my 3 operas stop functioning simultaneously. One opera is the one built into my phone from Nokia, the other one is Opera 4.2 which I downloaded when opera 5 stopped functioning and the 3rd one is ofcourse opera 5. I just do not know what goes wrong in my phone when operas stop functioning. Can opera be stopped by the network provider? when and why do they need to stop it? and why don't they stop Bolt browser from functioning? Opera 5 is a truly great application when it works and an absolute headache when it doesn't. Any ideas what's the reason behind it could be?
Help please.
