Opera 10.54 64bit GUI is painfully slow on Ubuntu 10.04
Version 10.54 InternalBuild 6336
Platform Linux
System x86_64, 2.6.32-22-generic
So the GUI is slow beyond usability. It takes 20 secs to open, menu open in 10-15 secs. Pages rendering is very fast. I don't know how to troubleshoot it, Opera 32bit on old laptop with Xubuntu runs just fine .

I noticed a very slight (fraction of a second delay) in opening new tabs and opening menus, etc when I set the speed dial background to something other than default. Opening new tabs wasn't as fluid as earlier anymore.
One way to troubleshoot is to start with a new profile and see if you can replicate the problem there:
opera -pd new_profile
My config:
Version 10.54 Internal Build 6340 Platform Linux System x86_64, 2.6.33-zen2

its here the same. after 10.5 builds its always like that. not immediate as before not so responsive. not only in linux but here on XP it is god damn SLOW..... youve said fraction of a second. but it it SLOW yes 100 200 miliseconds of delay make me really frustrated. it must be sooo much responsive.
people are talking about speed they feel. not speed they TEST on synthetic benchmarks. now i dont feel speed . its like IE now the GUI of Opera.
shame !!!! i want to feel that speed. even disabling UI animation to feel that but brrraaHHHHHHHHHH ITS SLOWWWWW
