Opera Mini 5 on Mobiles

OperaMini5 on LG BL40

I can use Opera Mini 5 with great ease on my LG BL40; the only problem I have is with online streaming. When I try to online live tv e.g. NDTV, I get a grayed box asking me to install a falsh plugin, and some other sites aske me to install MS Silverlight or MS Media plugin!

Is there a mini-flash plugin available for my LG BL40 mobile phone, which will enable me to view online live TV etc?

Help appreciated.

OperaMini5 User.

Sorry, Opera Mini does not support any plug-ins including Flash. You can't download plug-ins for Mini either.

Mini is a proxy browser meaning there's no way to play Flash files in Mini itself.

Why is there not yet Flash Lite available for the consumer 2 directly download to cell phone AND how about some sort of app that could a)bridge Flash to the Opera and b)run the Flash content . Say, on Opera's end, when it recognizes a site w/ Flash, it translates it as like a 'null' that would leave it open for the installed 'Flash bridger app' to do it's app-ing. It seems to me that something of this nature could be actualized. Like It or not, Flash is a fact- that is rapidly spreading. And, personally, I can't afford a Droid, but I really need to access many of those sites that favor the Flash. Any thoughts?

Um... I like how some people demand Flash on Mini while not knowing how Mini works.

When you call up a webpage in Mini, the call is sent to Opera's servers who download and compress the webpage using Opera's special markup. Then the servers transfer the compressed file back to Mini who displays the compressed file.

If Flash was allowed and active, it'll break during compression of the webpage/file. And there's no way to prevent that which is why Flash and other plugins (including animated GIFs) aren't allowed in Mini.

If you need Flash or other plugins on the go, go Opera Mobile or use a different browser.

Yes, I DEMAND Flash now! So how is the Opera Mobile different? It does not use the Magical Special Markup of Opera Mini? There are no Flash-supported downloadable mobile browsers for crappy a§§ phones like mine- none that I'm aware. As an aside, I've been wondering, why do ppl say they like how ppl say blah when they don't know blah about the blah? One could easily interpret a comment like that as very condescending. Of course, I'd never think that, but still...why do some ppl say that?

Sure it does. Opera Mobile for Windows Mobile supports plugins, which means that it supports Flash.

Yes you can.

But in case you didn't notice, this is a forum about Opera Mini, not Opera Mobile.

What makes you think you are in a position to demand anything?

So how is the Opera Mobile different? It does not use the Magical Special Markup of Opera Mini?

Opera Mobile is a full browser, and supports plugins, at least on Windows Mobile.

Well now, what makes you think I'm NOT in a position to demand anything? And, really, who cares? As stimulating it is to discuss ME, I believe the topic is related to Opera. But thanx for the Flash info, I may invest in the Opera Mobile:)
