Scheduled shut down on Win7?

I would like my office PC (Windows 7) to automatically shut at a certain hour, after a daily backup. I tried the scheduled tasks console but in the list of the events I do not see the "shut down computer". Does anyone know how to setup a scheduled shut down?

Thanks in advance

If you can add commands you could add "shutdown -s" (or stick it in a BAT file or some such)

Entering "shutdown -s" in a cmd window indeed shuts the PC off. But if I write "shutdown -s" in a text file and save it as a BAT file, when I execute it I see a cmd window with the command "shutdown -s" showing up in a loop. Windows does not execute it, strange enough.
The actions that can be scheduled are "start a program", "send an email" and "show a message". I cannot directly enter a command, apparently. left right

Some Ixquicking gave me http://www.drivermagician.com/autoshutdown/ I don't know if it's any good, though.

You could also try if adding a timeout helps, like "shutdown -s -t 01"

Thanks but 19.95USD to shut down a PC is ridiculous.

Found! There is a shutdown.exe file in the system32 folder. Choosing to execute this one wit the "/s" option it works.
Thanks for your help! cheers

Well, when I said I don't know if it's any good I also meant that being able to use it as shareware with limited functionality (i.e. merely shutting the PC off) would be "good" and having to pay would be "bad" p

Cheers. I'm confused though - I would imagine that's the same one that should always be executed thanks to PATH?

No doubt that it must be the same file, and the system32 folder is accessible without specifying the path. I do not understand why the .bat file is read instead of being executed (new in Win7 perhaps?) Anyway, it works! yes
