New to Opera Mini

Great browser and excellent experience so far.

I am using Opera Mini on my Meizu M8. The only issue I have is the web server goes to China so I get Chinese links first. I live in the United States and would like to get US links. Is there a way to set the program to visit US servers first?

AFAIK You cannot set which servers are used by Opera Mini.
Was Opera Mini pre-installed on your phone or did you download it yourself?

I downloaded myself - the Opera Mini beta 5 version for the Meizu M8. I'm assuming since it is a Chinese phone the default server sites are Chinese as well. You know what they say about assumptions! smile

Nope, only the menu language is in chinese. You're routed via US servers in accord with your provider DNS.

I noticed when I use the Opera Mini google search it produces the following: www.google.cn/m?q="seach phrase"

Is there a way to change the search engine to www.google.com instead of google.cn????

Hi Ranchdawg. I have a couple of questions for you: Did you purchase your Meizu M8 in the US, or is it imported from China? Is Opera Mini's UI displayed in Chinese? What is given as 'host' if you load the debug: page? Did you install Opera Mini from http://m.opera.com or Meizu's MStore?

hi everyone.
How do I upgrade to Opera Mini 5, if I'm already using Opera Mini 4.2 as a default browser?

Thanks Tizz
