How to make panel selector bar always visible?
I know F4 could call/hide the panels (or panel selector bar, if panels are already folded into it).Is it anyhow possible to have the panel selector pinned (always visible), so that F4 would work simply for fold/unfold the panel?
F4 Toggles the whole panel
Shift+F4 expands/collapses
If you don't want to press Shift all the time, then just change the keystroke for F4 to:
Show panel,-1 | Hide panel,-1
You can get a bit more complicated with how it behaves as well with various other actions

I use the Panel toggle. Click the left edge of the screen and the Panel will either expand or collapse.
In your Appearance dialogue "Shift+F12" under Panels, enable "Show panel toggle at edge of window"

You can experiment with it in your Appearance dialog, the panel selector buttons are treated as a toolbar while the Panels have their own section.
To the best of my knowledge the panel selector toolbar, when displayed at the top or bottom of the Panel, will only be as wide as the Panel.

It has an extender menu though if they don't all fit... on mine it will fit 13 icons before cutting off the 3 others... I have my panel width just big enough to show everything on the Mail Panel Toolbar (Check/Send, Compose, Search) and also have my icons set to 80%... for most people that's enough room to fit their panel buttons, even at 100%.will only be as wide as the Panel.
