How to protect specific cookies from being deleted . . .
Hi, I'm using V10.53, Build 3374 on Vista x64. I'm having a lot of trouble with my Google Search Preferences changing every time I re-start Opera. I prefer to delete unwanted cookies, but is there a function within the browser that allows me to selectively protect the cookies I choose to keep when I do a cookie clean-up? Thanks. Not really, if you don't have too many sites you want to do this for, then you can delete all your cookies and close Opera... open it again, go to the websites that you want to keep the cookies of, sign-in/set settings/etc... then go to:
Preferences (Ctrl+F12)
- Advanced
-- Cookies
And enable "<i>Delete new cookies when exiting Opera</i>"... then you can pretty much ignore deleting cookies from "Delete Private Data" since it will be automatically handled.
However, it's not perfect... the cookies will be kept, but they aren't "locked", so the site itself can still change them, but that's usually not a problem.
