How to Disable smooth scrolling?

I've got a 1.42GHz PPC Mac mini and scrolling is very jerky and laggy. Is there a way to disable smooth scrolling to make it scroll properly without lag?

Ok, I found where you are talking about, but under browsing in the advanced options menu, there's nothing about smooth scrolling.

It seems smooth scrolling is not available in Mac.

Why someone would want to disable smooth scrolling, which Mac users including me considers it not as smooth as is possible on the platform, evades me. Totally.

It is quite processor intensive.

Wooohooo! Thank you for the information. I've a MacPro with 512MB Video RAM, 16GB of RAM and 8 processors...smooth scrolling was laggy on that too.

Now it's off, it's much better!

Thank you!

Oh, that's great, finally. This 'smooth' scrolling was driving me crazy. It's not smooth at all and, as a user with broken mouse scrolling wheel, when holding up or down key, on releasing, the page just jerked up or down even more. It doesn't stop when I want it, it seems to lag or whatever and is highly jerky and slow.
Thanks for the info on how to get rid of this crap smile
If browsers were music, Opera would be an opera
