Can't pay for account, now magically de-activated; worth keeping?
Hello opera folk...I'm having a major problem with Opera Mail.
A few months ago, I got a notice that I needed to pay my account. I got instructions that I couldn't carry out because the workflow no longer exists in the webmail client. Upon bringing the question up to the Opera Mail staff, I was told to not worry about it. Foolishly, I didn't. I was still able to access my mail and download it.
Until yesterday.
My account has been de-activated. I can't get to it on my phone, via webmail, nor via direct download to outlook.
This is my active, professional account for my singing (I have loved operamail for a long time because of the name, primarily - it works well for an opera singer). I was sending mail as recently as Friday.
I submitted a customer support request and was told that it would be addressed during working hours in Norway.
Does anyone have any experience with this? My other two operamail accounts are still functional, but obviously it would seem that, when it is time to pay them and I am unable to because, despite my willingness to give money to operamail, they haven't supplied me with a way of getting it to them, this problem will occur with the other two accounts.
Any help appreciated. I am losing mail, and money, by the moment.
Thanks,
-Phreddiva (until this is fixed. if it ever is.)

Opera no longer sells new operamail.com premium subscriptions. It also doesn't sell renewals of the premium subscriptions. That means when your premium account subscription expires, you can't renew it.
Unfortunately, it looks like (from your experience) when this happens, the premium account might get completely deactivated instead of just being downgraded to a free account (and trimming messages down to fit in the free account's quota allotment) so you can still access your mail etc. I'm not sure if Opera plans to do anything about this.
Since Opera bought fastmail.fm, it's suggested that you use it for your email via the 10MB free account it offers, or the payed "Ad free", "Full" or "Enhanced" accounts.
Or, just use mail.google.com. It's free, has lots of space and supports both IMAP and pop.
But, if you ask in the OperaMail.com forum, you might find more info.
In short though, operamail.com was always (and still is) complete junk. Currently, there's no good reason to use it.
