Fullscreen Pop-up address bar

It would be great if opera can have a "pop-up" address bar when you hover the mouse cursor on the topmost edge of the screen.

Is there any options where i can view the address bar without having to exit full screen mode in the current version of opera which i am not aware of?

Press F2 on your keyboard to see Go to Page dialog. You can also set a keyboard shortcut\mouse gesture with following action "View address bar,0|View address bar,2" to show/hide Address bar. Here's a button doing the same so you can see the result: Show/Hide Address bar. Just drag and drop this link to one of your toolbars, while not being in fullscreen mode.

EDIT: Or even better - you can automatically set focus to the address field with "View address bar,0|View address bar,2&Delay,1&Focus address field". Here's an equivalent button Hide/Show and focus Address bar.

Ok, i tried the mouse gesture and seems to be the best compromise for all the lazy people(like me) using opera.
It would be much better in my opinion if the address bar behaves like it does in IE8 in fullscreen mode.

NO. Firefox leave a 2 pixels line on the top during fullscreen! It's horrible.
I would prefer the TRUE fullscreen, without the visual hint. Just show the Address bar when the pointer touched the edge would be the best.

Or even better make the activation area configurable for each toolbar for window & Fullscreen! bigsmile

...and make use of windows 7&vista's aero glass to make the address bar semi-transparent in full screen(beating MS first).

This is hardly what one would want. The whole point is the address bar is hidden automatically.

Personally, I'd like this feature to work even when not in full screen plus a “Focus address field” should bring the address bar.

F2 is suboptimal since it does not have the drop down history, etc.

Hear, hear. Expect, as I've said I'd like it to work even not in full screen mode.

+1 opera's tab/url bar is small enough now for it to appear once you "hover" your mouse to the top of the screen it should appear...TRUE fullscreen does not mean "lack of ease" that is not what opera does...opera makes things "easier".

yeah, that's also what I meant smile I meant the general concept of the bars sliding in in fullscreen when you touch an edge good.

thanks everyone, i am now using one of these commands for showing/hiding the address box+tab bar in full screen mode. Using F1 as the shortcut.

View page bar, 1 & View address bar,2 | View page bar, 0 & View address bar, 0 <<--address bar on top,tab placement on the left
View page bar, 2 & View address bar,2 | View page bar, 0 & View address bar, 0 <<--address bar on top, tabs on top
View page bar, 3 & View address bar,2 | View page bar, 0 & View address bar, 0 <<--address bar on top, tabs on right
View page bar, 4 & View address bar,2 | View page bar, 0 & View address bar, 0 <<--address bar on top, tabs on the bottom

There is still a custom button available for switching to full screen with enabled address bar.
You only have to find the website to download this.

No need for a new feature! bye
