All downloads stop at 3.9 MB

Hi, I'm using the latest Opera Mobile 10 for Symbian on my SE Satio U1 (S60v5).

When I try to download larger files, the downloads never go past 3.9 MB. (I couldn't even "upgrade" from within the beta, because the Opera Mobile SIS file was about 5 MB. Had to exit to default browser to do it...)

I have installed Opera to the memory card, try to save to memory card, tried waiting "forever" (over one hour last time i tried), but the download manager just says it has downloaded 3.9 of XX MB, and my file manager says it has downloaded 4.185.627 Bytes.

Is this a S60-specific, Satio-specific, og just me having a bad user experience? Is there any setting in about:config I should try? (I saw a couple of possibly related options, Disc Cache - Size, and OEM -> Operator Cache size, both having a value of 4096. I've tried upping both of them to 8192, but the result was still the same)

Any ideas?

It is a network operator issue..i too have downloaded files upto 50 mb on my 5230 (s60v5).
Maybe your operator doesnt allow downloads more than 4 mb.
Opera Mini 5.1 and Opera Mobile 10 on Nokia 5230 Series 60 5th Edition.
Opera 10.63 on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I've downloaded files larger than 4 MB before via Nokia Ovi Store, so it cannot be an operator issue.

UPDATE: Actually, lately this hasn't been such a big problem. I think I did a hard reset on my phone, (factory reset), but I believe I've tried that before too, without fixing the issue. Now, however, the downloads usually works flawlessly when I download from my local network, and most of the time when downloading from elsewhere on the web. Still, occasionally, the download halts when reaching the magic number 3.9 MB.

Seeing as I "always" download to memory card, and many times have monitored that the global available memory seems to be sufficient, I have not been able to figure out exactly when or why this problem occur. I do believe it has sometimes happened in a "clean" environment, after a recent reboot of the phone with no prior applications running.

So: it is an unstable issue, not happening all the time. The worst, I think, is that the download just stops progress, without any warning about full disk/memory, loss of connection, or any other information that would help diagnose the problem, or tell you to just cancel the download... It just hangs there forever, but the main application still works, as if there's no problem at all, just a really slow download at 0 kB/s

Hi,

I am having the same problem loial.

I have created a local webserver that I can connect to on my Nokia E71 through a WLAN.
I am serving some files that I want to transfer to my mobile. Small files transfer fine, however when I try to transfer a large video file ~300 MB it stalls on 3.9Mb. I am trying to save to a 2Gb card.

I had a look through opera:config to see if anything obvious needs to be changed (i.e. temporary directories etc.) but only changed default download directories and the likes. Is there a file limit across a WLAN?

I am using Opera Mobile 10.00 on Symbian S60 OS through Nokia E71

Any information or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Mica
