Opera Mobile in full screen mode and AJAX map site (openstreetmap.org)
I was looking into how Opera Mobile behavee with AJAX based "slippy map" sites (www.openstreetmap.org in particular) on my Nokia E63, and found an "interesting" effect. If full screen mode is on, a download infinite loop is created. What appears to be going is that in the initial load, the menu bar is present (giving loading progress information), so full screen mode isn't really the full screen at first. Once the map is loaded, the menu bar goes away, causing additional information to requested from openstreemap to cover what is now the full screen, which brings up the menu bar with the progress information, resulting in another information request from openstreetmap to get information from the now reduced screen size, and initiating another round in the loop. Pressing the stop button breaks the loop. Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening in designing a web site?
