Hi zoso,
I'm interested in the above answer, but cannot decode "... the special "Opera Mini" folder you'll see on Desktop..."
That's a bit cryptic. I have searched Opera 10.53 Windows desktop version, searched the help (many irrelevant results, nothing useful) and cannot find where this folder might be. Could you please explain where to find it ?
Thanks (not urgent)

operattt: what WebDweller said, although you don't have to login to the web interface, and you can also see the "Opera Mini" folder on Desktop.
WebDweller: that's... interesting. I hadn't heard of that problem before. If you give us permission to monitor your traffic and you try again, we should be able to track down the problem and fix it.

WebDweller: thanks for your reply, but.
- "When you are running Opera Mini and connect to Opera Link through the main menu" ... I'm running Opera Mini on a mobile handset and the only "menu" I can get is by hitting the menu button, and that gives a visual menu with a few browsing icons and also a drop-down menu with a few things such as bookmarks.
I cannot see any reference to "Opera Link" anywhere, and I have looked. Can you give me a further clue as to where I should be looking ?
- "Log into my.opera.com, click on Opera Link, and then Bookmarks, where you'll see that subfolder."
Due to some major bugs being discussed with zoso on another thread http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=568961 ,
none of that works for me. If I click on Bookmarks on the Opera Link page, after a long wait I either get
"HTTP gateway timed out
You tried to access the address http://my.opera.com/operattt/account/link/bookmarks/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page."
or, if it doesn't time out, I get a bookmarks page showing that I have no bookmarks (in reality I have thousands).
So I can't see what you are talking about there, sorry.
zoso:
you said "and you can also see the "Opera Mini" folder on Desktop." which is exactly what you said before and which is exactly the phrase I do not understand. "On Desktop" - where on Desktop am I supposed to be looking ? Sorry, I haven't a clue. Can you be very explicit ? I think a lot of this stuff is just not working for me.

WebDweller: thanks for the clarifications.
When you say "Mini 5's main menu has a submenu called "Settings", and that's where Opera Link is located" ... OK, I have found that, although I probably would not have said that Opera Link is "located" there - all I can see is a setting to turn Opera Link on or off. I wouldn't have thought I would have to repeatedly visit "settings" in order to actually use a facility.
I'll have a further look.
"By "Desktop", zoso is referring to what you'd see in the version of Opera for a desktop computer, not on the desktop of your computer itself."
- I understand very well that the terminology "Desktop" in this content means "Opera for Windows Desktop", but that doesn't help one bit.
What I can't understand, and what I was asking, is precisely _where_ in Opera Desktop I can "...see the "Opera Mini" folder...".
I have been looking at Opera Desktop for hours and searching bookmarks and menus, and Opera help, and I have no idea where it is.
"Computer stuff is very hard to explain without confusing people." - You might be implicitly apologising for Opera's deficiencies here.
I happen have a higher degree in Computer Science and a lot of experience in information technology. I also have a low tolerance for poor implementation and poor usability.

Opera Mini - I enabled Opera Link, and logged in on the mobile device.
Opera Mini said "synchronising your data" for about 30 seconds, and then "parsing failed" followed by - and I'm not impressed with having to retype this manually -
"Save transaction failed - DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Lock wait timeout exceeded: try restarting transaction at /opt/Link/Link/PullRequestHandler.pm line 313."
My mobile device show that Opera Link is ON, but, having been advised in the above error message to restart transaction - there seems no way I can do this.
I just cannot see that Opera is going to make a success with software like this. Every interaction with Opera software is just so time-consuming and ends in failure.

operattt: about the Opera Mini folder, you're probably not getting it because you're having problems using Opera Link in the first place :-) So it's not that you can't find it, it's probably that it's not there at all. When everything goes back to normal, a new bookmark folder called "Opera Mini" (with a different icon) should pop up among your bookmarks.
