Forever-multiplying buttons OMG!
I just upgraded from 10.51 to 10.52. I'd moved the "O" menu button from the tabs bar onto the smaller status bar underneath (to leave more room for the tabs - I have my tabs bar at the bottom). 10.51 would sometimes reinstate the "O" on the tabs bar but I could always remove it. In 10.52 the option to remove the "O" is greyed out. I tried dragging it to the other bar, but then I just got two "O" menus. Continuing to attempt to move it creates more and more copies of the "O" menu, none of which I can delete!2. June 2010, 13:54:59 (edited)
Now it's immediately told me I have an update for 10.53 ready...
[edit] Nope, still has the same problem, can't move the "O" menu off the tabs bar.

it is by design to stop new users removing the menu button by mistake. What you can do is hide the toolbar that the button sits on, but even that reappears if you open the Appearance dialogue, or show/hide the main menu.
IMO this is being over protective of new users. If they remove the button by mistake then they should learn how to restore it. It is not that easy to do by accident.
In the current 10.60 alpha build the developers are messing with adding text to the O menu icon, in case someone cannot figure out where the menu is. It is time to stop this endless tinkering, and return the O menu button to the standard button behaviour, letting users remove it if they wish.
