Standalone mail window

I understand the logic between joining the browser and mail client to share a lot of resources. But I don't like the fact that you can't visually separate the two. Especially with Windows 7's "half-width snap" feature, I'd like to be able to open a "standalone" mail client window, so that if I click on links on emails, it will open them in tabs in a new "standalone" browser window.

I left Thunderbird because of all the stupid broken "features" and confusing options. With a notable exception of where signatures are placed (and Opera has bugs, too), I like the way Opera handles mail. However, I have never gotten used to the "merged" mail and browser window.

Do you want a "standalone" mail client window?

Well, you could use something like this which will open the "Mail" tab in a new window... then from inside e-mails, simply use the context menu to open links in a new Window, or use the Mouse-Wheel Click (hold Shift then press it to change what it does, and Open in Background Window is one of them).

You could also use MDI, and have the mail window on one side, then subsequently opened links would open beside/under/etc the wail window, which is basically what you want to do on your desktop, but still inside Opera.

Simply: Let opera bring a button for it with its install.
