Version 10.60 Build 3400 - Tab Drag to Full-Screen

I don't know if this should be posted here or not, but here it goes anyway.

Google Chrome allows you to drag a tab to any part of your screen while your browser is maximized to make your tab a window. I noticed that Opera doesn't do this yet. Why is this important? Well, it is important for users of Windows 7 because of the Snap feature. I do a lot of work in my browser and tend to use the snap feature for viewing two or more Windows at a time and doing my work through Word and the browser.

Anyway, what I'm asking is if this is something that will be in the stable release of 10.60. I really do hope it is since it is a vital part of my browser use and I'm sure with many others using Windows 7 since that is a big, long awaited, new feature.

On my pc the snap is working. But I'm not getting the resized tab, I'm getting a new opera full screen session which can be resized and compared with 1 other tab. Is not working automatically, but is working manually.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I think it's what I had tried and didn't like.

I had dragged the tab into the browser while in full-screen mode and redirects your page to whatever tab you were dragging into it, but if you drag the tab onto, let's say, your desktop, it makes it another window and you can then snap it. What I would like it to do is make it another window while the browser is in full-screen mode instead of it redirecting you to the page you were browsing through.

I'm not sure if anyone else likes this idea or thinks it's a big deal, but I personally like it since it requires more work. I don't think anyone really wants to drag the tab into the page you're already on and get redirected.

Opera did away with "detached tabs" (as they called them) some time ago, they were too confusing for newbies. They'd close the main window before the detached tab, and then couldn't figure out how to get a proper window back (or lost all the tabs in their window, equally bad). So now when you drag a tab outside Opera you get a full window, and you have the option of re-opening a window you closed accidentally. But the power users who wanted the window without the tab bar and status bar that a detached tab gave them have been complaining since ...

this way of detaching a tab to get a new window is stupid.
bring back the old detachable tabs like most browser have now.

Well, I'm not quite sure what that is since I have never seen it, but I was referring to dragging the tab anywhere on the screen while the browser was in full-screen mode and it becoming a new window. This way, you can "Snap" it to Windows 7 sides.

After what I heard, this wouldn't take advantage of Windows 7.

Why don't they bring it back and make it so that way it becomes a new window (just like it does when the browser is not in full-screen)?

So sad to see other browsers implementing this feature while Opera had it years ago! I absolutely loved it as well as crowds of other Opera users. Wonder if they will ever bring it back. The current "detached" implementation is not what I am looking for at all :-(
