Actually it began way before that... I remember the problem began on 9.5x, but it wasn't really serious back then. But in 10.5x, it just getting ridiculous... Extremely high RAM & VM consumption, & it took minutes to shutdown & released all memory.
10.60 doesn't show any sign of improvement in memory usage.
