Why are some sites open in mobile view?

Why are some sites opening in mobile view by default? They dont give the option to toggle between mobile and full site(that PC view).HOW TO SORT IT OUT?Its really frustating.

Some sites rely on browser or user agent sniffing. They see opera, and serve mobile content. Nothing you can do except contact the sites webmaster. sad

My own Web guideline is that sniffing is good for picking a stylesheet, but bad for redirecting to a crippled site or page.

they're even having trouble with it in desktop. The site sees "Opera" and serves mobile content to big boxes! lol

Opera Mini does not provide a way to change the user agent string.

I know Bolt is recognized as Safari by sites. Opera is also IDed as a browser accessing from another country, which has caused me problems signing up for certain things. There must be some sort of code or something to create a non-mobile browser ID for the Opera. For me, there is no Bolt v Opera issue. I toggle between the 2 for differing tasks. But when they both bug out at the same time, THAT really sucks!

With FB, there might be an intermediate step: At the bottom of the page, click on 'touch site' link, when the page reloads, go to the bottom of the page again and click 'full site' link.
That's the way it works on my phone in either Mini or Mobile.

Facebook switches from full to mobile site too often. Repeating the steps to restore full site had me at wit's end. THIS WORKS FOR ME - set FB page to full version, modify page settings to preferred view to open each session. Saved to SPEED DIAL. Not only provides reliable opening page - when FB slips into mobile, easy enough to restore full site and updates.

That's because the sites recognize the user agent or IP address of opera mini ,so they show mini the mobile site.
You can change opera's user agent too force the sites show opera mini the desktop view. But opera minister can't mod user agent by yourself completely, you only can change the words behind "opera mini/",for example:"4.21557/hifi", sometimes it's enough.
you can insert "iphone"in it,then you will find that sites will become touch view or desktop view.
Or you can insert "mozilla"or "MSIE8"and so on.
Of course ,the best method is that opera mini can input user agent all by users .
