Only the active tab should be able to play sounds
I am often confused while browsing because Opera plays sounds from all tabs simultaneously. When I am reading a webpage in one tab, I am really only interested in the sounds from that particular tab. Sounds from background tabs are just noise. I suggest an option in Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Tabs: Only active tab can play sounds.if the sound comes from plugins there is essentially nothing the browser can do about it as plugins are essentially standalone apps that get a drawing context from the browser.
