Bold 9650 Trackpad Issue
I recently upgraded my Tour to a Bold 9650, which has the trackpad, instead of the ball. When in OM, the trackpad is highly sensitive to the point of making the browser unusable, no matter how low I set the sensitivity. This only happens in OM. I'm having trouble finding any help with this issue (possibly due to this being a new phone), so any help would be appreciated. This happens on my 8530 with the track pad too. It started happening with the newer OS 5 releases. I've not been able to use OM 5 since installing 5.0.0.654. I have been using OM 4, which I prefer anyway. It's nice having tabs and copy/paste, but OM 4 is fast with a nice simple interface.
The Bold 9650 is not listed as a phone that supports Opera Mini. I've heard that people who've downloaded it to that phone have had trouble ranging from the phone freezing to an uncontrollable cursor. Is this the case? If so, does anyone know when a version will come out for the Bold 9650?

My curser is just too sensitive to control.
Hi,
I, too, have a Bold 9650 and none of the versions of Opera Mini work on my device. When I originally downloaded OM the first time via the Blackberry browser, it detected my device with no problems. After installing and running, the app was useless because of the sensitivity of the trackpad. I tried version 4.2 and it does not even run correctly. I guess we will have to wait for Opera to fix the problems with compatibility for the Bold 9650.

This is a problem with ALL trackpad Blackberry devices. I wouldn't hold my breath, if it was a quick fix/priority for Opera it would have been done by now given how large of a segment of Blackberry users are unable to use Opera Mini. It has been acknowledged in another thread they are aware of the issue.
Even the new Opera Mini 5.1 continues to exhibit this same problem with the optical trackpad. The application is supersensitive to the movements on the optical trackpad and is often unusable as a result. As noted elsewhere, occasionally the application freezes up when cursor focus is in the address bar. The only solution to that which I have found is to uninstall the application and reinstall it.
Nor do the older versions like Opera mini 4.2 work on the Bold. You can't get past the EULA agreement since it incorrectly maps the softkeys to the phone keys.
Interestingly, now with version 5.1, it seems that the opera website does now "think" the Bold 9650 is supported, because when you browse to opera mini website using the default BB 9650 browser, it recognizes the BB 9650 and automatically provides download options of opera mini 5.1 and 4.2.
I'm amazed this problem has been going on so long, and continues to. There are millions of Blackberry Bold devices on the market, and the default browser is horrendous. Afaik, nobody with a BB Bold has a usable browser solution!!
Opera team - please take notice and fix this!
Thanks!

Hi,
I echo jbfeinsmith's post. I also have a Blackberry Bold 9650 and I really miss using Opera Mini. Please, someone on the dev team let us know that a solution is close at hand.
Sincerely,
Doc

Hi, all,
Any news on the trackpad sensitivity issue? Has there been any kind of update? I haven't checked these forums in a few weeks and wanted to see. I really miss my Opera Mini.

Mmm my BB Curve 8520 works well with Mini 5 .1 Yes the trackpad was a bit "Jumpy" to start with , but I reduced the sensitivity and if I treat the trackpad gently I don't seem to have any problems ! .
