iplayer
Hi,I'm have a bit of a problem with the iplayer because of the way that opera connects. It thinks I'm out of the UK. I also had a problem with facebook related to the same issue- it thought I was logging on from norway so locked up the account for suspicious activity.
I presume that this is because of the superfetch (or whatever its called that makes browsing on opera mobile so damn fast) but is there anyway I can stop the BBC thinking I'm in norway so I can watch on my phone? Cheers.

Yes and no... ish.
Is there a way for BBC to properly tell that you're not in Norway, and to tell where you really are? - Yes.
Are they doing that? - Obviously not.
Should the be? - Yes.
Opera Mini's Norwegian servers send BBC an "X-Forwarded-For" header with your real location in it. They should be checking for this rather than assuming you're in Norway straight away.
However, the reason they probably don't bother is that I don't think the iPlayer works in Opera Mini anyway.
Damn, and I was loving my new phone so much. I used to use Opera Mobile on my old phone which accessed iplayer no problems. I was relying on Opera to be able to watch the iplayer on my new android phone. There was an app available but the developer recently (and suddenly) removed it from the market. Hopefully this is because the bbc plan a dedicated service for android based phones. Until then I will have to do without
Cheers
