Don't Resize Tabs on Toolbar Until Mouse Off

Hopefully that explains it well. Basically it makes it very hard to close bulk tabs because it constantly resizes the tabs, so I would say don't resize the tabs until you pull your mouse down into the main browsing area.

Try this: right click on tab bar, select customize -> appearance. Try to change value of Wrapping to "wrap to multiple lines", or "show extender menu".
Not a full solution for your problem, but in these modes tabs are not resizing, that's sure.

1) Right-click on tab, close all but active.
2) Don't open so many tabs in the first place.
3) Open related tabs in a new window, then close the window when you're done.
4) Use the keyboard, e.g. Ctrl W shortcut.

Call me selfish, but I don't want to settle for missing features by changing how I browse or using extreme techniques to get something similar. Thats all I seem to be seeing in almost all request posts. Are these even read by development staff, or are we just posting here to think we are making a difference, when in reality we aren't?

Basically, you want the behavior of Chrome. I'd like to see that as well, but I can't tell if that will happen soon.

Call me pragmatic, but I prefer to use what's already available than long for some pie in the sky. Experienced users often suggest work-arounds or real solutions for requests made by users who may not be aware that these other methods exist. We often see requests for features that already exist, though that is not the case here.

I think you will find that if a feature request is a good one it will gather some support. Your request is not the first one for this feature. The previous one got no replies at all from other users. Resize remaining tabs after closing one or more only when "mouse out"

Only a few of the many Feature Requests in this forum have much merit. Of those that are sensible and well supported, only a few do get implemented. I could probably find a dozen frequently requested features dating back many years that are still not implemented. There is never enough time to do it all.

Something like this, which has a minor benefit for some users who work in a particular way, might not get much attention, but the developers will be aware of this issue.
