Opera for Samsungs Bada

Hi.

I just bought a Samsung Wave. I love the phone but it lacks a good browser. The one in the phone is unfortunately useless. Since I also love Opera on mobile phones a combination of the two whould be perfectly. So - please - develop an Opera for the Samsung Os Bada!

You could use java version.

We could and we do, but why using Java based app when it could be a native application? I also have Wave (GT-S8500), but i'd still like to have native Bada version of Opera Mini.

True a native version could be even better.
Like the native version of symbian is way better than the java version..
What is the file format of a bada application?
Opera Mini 5.1 and Opera Mobile 10 on Nokia 5230 Series 60 5th Edition.
Opera 10.63 on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hi,

I also suggest to port opera mobile on Bada: I own a Wave (S8500) and the native browser isn't enought for me. I am an Opera fan: I use it on a windows7 desktop, an openSuSE desktop, on my pc @ work, on a palm (Axim x50V) and I am using Opera mini on Wave.

A Bada Opera Mobile for my wave would be great to me.

Tnx

Such thinks should never be done quickly, that gives to much bugs, and that's not good for a good browsing experience .

But I am all for a mobile version for bada.
My next phone will probably a samsung wave

I have purchased Samsung Wave 723. It supports opera 5 and any lower version. But it does not support OperaMini 10. Please develop OperaMini 10 for BADA OS.

Hey guys. Ive been a bada use for about 7 months now.. and I can honestly say the default dolphin browser on the Wave is RUBBISH! I see other phones like ALL the Iphones and ALL Android phones and they absolutely destroy the Waves browser. They dont ever come up with an error such as "Web page cannot be displayed".. its honestly the most annoying error I have come across.

So PLEASE OPERA.. I beg of you to make a port to Bada. NO other browser has even attempted to port to Bada and there are millions of Bada users right now as we speak. So YOU can be the first to get your hands on this. Im sure many people have the same gripe as I do so if you can come around and port Opera Mobile 11 as a native application on Bada, I'm sure millions of people will thank you!!!

Please do it fast because I am losing my patience with Bada, it is a load of rubbish. My complaints mostly come from the browser so please do it quickly!!!

"Samsung shipped some 3.5 million smartphones running its own Bada platform during the first quarter of 2011; that’s over a million more Bada-based phones sold during the quarter than Windows Phone devices from all vendors. Canalys noted Samsung’s success with Bada indicates the smartphone market can accommodate multiple operating systems, and vendors can benefit from keeping tight control over device development “to hit the right markets and price points." ...

If I was Opera I would wait till Bada 2.0 to see if Samsung get's everything right.
Than make an Opera version for it.

There was an article about bada 2.0.1 where there was a mension of Opera Mobile for Bada, but it got removed.

No, they don't.

I'd like to say I encourage you and support this petition. But since I don't have a Bada phone I "can't" sign it, here's why:
Opera wants to know how many users it'd have if they develop this version to see if it's profitable. Opera Mobile is a very complex software and it'd have to be written and maintained in the specific Bada programming language and that's a lot of work (money).

I suggest you to go on Samsung/Bada communities on the Web and spread about the Facebook page asking for people to like it if they want and would use Opera Mobile if Opera Software made it.
OPERA is on FACEBOOK! Like!

If they port Opera to bada many people who may have not used opera before will start using it simply because it is by far the best mobile browser on the market... I have used it on symbian and i'm quite disappointed to find that there still is no version for bada, although there are millions of bada phones out there. The number of likes on facebook is no mesurement of how popular Opera will be on Bada platform, if people are using it on iOS, Android and Symbian there is a good chance that this trend will not change on Bada powered phones... Anyways, hope to see a genuine Opera on my Wave phone wink

Bada has a higher market share than Windows Phone and Win Mobile in 2011. So it should definitely be worth a try. And - the browser in Bada 2.0 is much better than before but should be no match for Opera Mobile. Be the only alternative for those devices! Or give us some hint at least, why this would not be an option for you.

BTW it is still PITA, how Opera Mini (Java) installs on such device (s8500 Wave here). Joe Average would uninstall immediately and never try again, because it is such an unnerving experience. Upscaled screen looks like !"§$%!, app not touch enabled, no multi-touch zoom of course...
