Let's revive this thread a bit shall we? Here's a screenshot of my current setup, minimalist with a couple of development tools.

If you want to know more about it, there is an explanation (plus a bigger screenshot) here on extendopera.
You can also download the toolbar file there.
Visit ExtendOpera.org for finding and sharing UserJS, user CSS and other customisation files.

Heres mine i normally surf in full-screen with the main bar on the right & use the buttons on the main bar to open toolbars as needed
i press F2 to open the address box.
shown are main bar & personal bar on the right & the status bar on the top ( i have recently found out that you can drag bookmarks & buttons to the status bar by pressing shift & you can do the same on the tab bar but only on the left & right ends of the bar.My opera screen.PNG

PS how do you get the image to show in the post instead of as a link ?

Most people post looks they've created with other skins. I decided to see what I could do using the default Opera Standard skin. Here's what I came up with.

Are you using a modification of a certain panel that I basically haven't updated for about four years? cheers

Boy I REALLY wish you would update it, because that's what I used to use. The only reason I'm not using it now is that I like the calendar to fill the entire panel, and yours, which otherwise is superior in every way, only goes about 3/4 of the way down. This one is from www.timeanddate.com

Doesn't the Breeze skin do that? At any rate, it would only require a minor modification of the CSS, in particular the max-width value (though it might need to be coupled with a width setting). For instance, you could try replacing the relevant part of the CSS by something like this.

#content {
margin: auto;
width: 99%;
max-width: 500px;
text-align: center;
}

The main problem is that, at least from my perspective, there is little to update, though if I'm bored one of these days I might just try to see if what I wrote so long ago is absolute horror or not too bad. lol

Opera 10.5 Pre-Alpha on Windows 7:
operadev20091222.jpg

EDIT: Is there a way to make speed dial aero-transparent in Windows?
I tried this:
[Speed Dial Widget Skin]
Fallback version            = 3
Clear Background = 1

It doesn't work. Speed dial goes black and reflects some previous frames and animations.

I've tried the "Clear Background" setting on almost all skin elements - seems like it's only valid on a limited few. +1 for extending "Clear Background" to all skin sections as a Wishlist item.

Nothing particularly fancy... Would take too many images to show all customizations...

Skin: <a href="http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/info/?id=8899">IBIS Inspire</a>
Image: <a href="http://moonchilde-stock.deviantart.com/art/Ries-Nebula-Stock-129667398">Ries Nebula</a>
Panel: Just my own, same as the link in my signature (which may not work)

If you switch the tabbar to a side, Clearbackground=1 works: Original sizeI made a posting at the beta forum with your request. Let's make some noise. ;)

It's just an alternative to the existing Aero visual style - it's in the same format, so it depends on the size of the individual visual style - some may even make your computer run faster (if they're significantly smaller/lighter than the default one) but generally any difference will be imperceptible.

The only thing to be aware of is that they typically revert to the normal Aero with every Service Pack update (as Microsoft reverts the dlls back to their original state on update), so you then need to re-install the visual style, which generally just takes the quick click of a button.

I wish you guys when showing your Opera look would show how it looks on an actual web page instead of Speed Dial....since that's what we look at mostly.

You can't blame them for using Speed Dial in their screenshot. After all it's the initial state in Opera, you can change its icons and change its background. A lot of people make a deal out of changing the appearance of their Speed Dial, thus it falls natural to post screenshots featuring their Speed Dial.
